“I think there is something beautiful in reveling in sadness. The proof is how beautiful sad songs can be. So I don’t think being sad is to be avoided. It’s apathy and boredom you want to avoid. But feeling anything is good, I think. Maybe that’s sadistic of me.” - Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Zooey Deschanel & Ben Schwartz- Tonight You Belong to Me (by hellogiggles)
Two of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE entertainment peoples out there :] this makes me smile.
Hey everyone! We are so excited to announce our first spotlight: Milo Greene! They are an LA-based band whom we saw perform at Fingerprints in Long Beach to debut their new self-titled album. We first heard the band play at the Huntington Beach US Open of surf last year on a rickety little stage by the pier and instantly swooned over their harmonies and raw talent. We have followed their career ever since, going to all of their LA performances at Fingerprints, the Observatory, and the Pasadena Make Music Festival. The interesting part of that is they just released their album, yet up to a year ago they were booking major shows and gathering a huge crowd! That definitely reflects on their talent…they are brilliant.
The new album is amazing! The five members (Robbie Arnett, Andrew Heringer, Marlana Sheetz, Graham Fink, and Curtis Marrero) met while they were each involved in their own solo projects, so their sound has many different influences and dimensions that come together to form a cohesive, unique piece of music. If you’ve seen their live shows, you’ll notice that all members play all of the instruments, switching off in between songs, (Curtis, the drummer, is the only exclusion in this dance) and their sound mixes folk influences and gritty vocals with softer tones and harmonies. The band made a decision to keep the album on the softer side, putting the listener in a dreamlike state, one that we never wanted to wake up from. We also noticed that the album had a cinematic feel, like it belonged in a soundtrack, and coincidentally the band have just announced a film they made with the album as a soundtrack…we’re geniuses.
Anyways, we are stoked about this band and this first spotlight and everything we have in store for our future! Stay tuned for our upcoming videos and SUBSCRIBE PLEASE!
We love you!
